My Review

I have one word for the grand reveal - Brilliant, brilliant end. Never saw it coming. I knew the story had a twisted end from reading its reviews on bookstagram. I even tried to use some of my mystery-solving skills to deduce what must’ve had happened, while I was reading the book, but none of it was close to what was revealed.

The story is a very simple one. What takes the cake is the brilliant way in which it is unraveled to the readers, layer by layer.  At times I thought it was confusing, but in the end, I realized it was meant to be confusing to keep the story interesting. I loved Gat, no, not because he was an Indian, but more for the values he believed in and his endearing love for Cady.

It’s a fast-paced novel so you can get through it like a breeze and the chapters are very short. I won’t lie I even shed a few tears in the end after the grand unravel. Because I agree when the author said that the loss was catastrophic and there’s no word in Scrabble to describe how sorry I feel.
