A story of the aftermath, of picking up the pieces, of finding yourself again and discovering that life isn’t always easy . . . it’s not meant to be, but it can be worth it.

Summary

Ann Maguire, is a lonely woman in her thirties, recently separated from her ultra-rich husband, returns to the place of her childhood memories, Knockmore. She wants to find home. She wants to find the love her parents shared.  But like her friend Sophie puts it, Ann’s life is nothing less than a roller-coaster, never dull. She has choices to make will she choose a stable life or a life of passion?

My favorite singer is you. Singing that song, slowly, to me.

My review

Sing Me Home was a pleasant surprise. I expected an ordinary love story or triangle. But it’s packed with dramatic punches. The history of Ann’s house and family, the history of the Dempseys, the people living in her house, her chance acquaintance with a mysterious stranger, Nathan, and her bitchy neighbor, Tracy, all added a good mix to the story.

I loved the bit were the story took dramatic twists and turns, like Jessica’s mysterious questions to her brother Mark. Nathan’s acquaintance of Olive and Olive’s sudden return from her Spanish Holiday. It just kept me hooked to the story.

Sing Me Home

Judith Cuffe’s writing is easy to follow. There is no complex movement of story into the past and future and yet she manages to keep you turning the pages. Before reading this particular book I had read about her other books and was pleasantly surprised as to how much love her other books had been show. After reading this novel I think it’s justified.

Final Verdict

In the final chapters Ann’s discovery of Nathan’s whereabouts was a little unbelievable for me but did not in any way take away anything from the story or the experience. So I rate Sing Me Home a perfect five out of five stars. I’m usually upset about very common character names like Elizabeth or Christian but for this book I wouldn’t change anything about it.

Who Should Read This

Every fan of romance novels is welcome to read this book. There are no violent scenes or overly erotic scenes in the book so even young adults can give the book a read.

Thank you Book Sirens and the author for an ARC of the book.

Happy Reading!
