Reading Challenges 2022 and 2023

I always enjoy participating in reading challenges, and there are several reasons for that. I participate in the Goodreads reading challenge for the year to keep track of what I read and how much I read throughout the year.  Also, at the end of the year, fulfilling a set goal, gives me a sense of accomplishment, however small, that I decided something for myself other than my work and home duties and pursued it and achieved it.

I participate in reading challenges by other bloggers, to read books on varied subjects. The monthly themes of these bloggers enable me to hunt for books I wouldn’t otherwise have picked. Also, since I know many other participants are doing the challenges, it gives me a sense of a community with people working towards a common goal. Additionally, the recommendations and suggestions the hosts and other members give help me in exploring more books and themes.

Also, I already have so many unread books. Through these challenges, I try to find as many books from my shelves that fit the theme and hence, will get read eventually sometime in the year.

Plus, the best part, even if I for some reason, am not able to read a certain number of books or a certain theme of books for any of these challenges, no pressure. Reading should be fun and is an activity that gives pleasure, so it should be a no-stress game. No one is going to hold me against it, but if I do it will give me a sense of satisfaction and achievement and I will have learned so much more from these various books.

So I encourage all of you to participate in them even if you read 1 book a year or 100. All the links have been given below. Please participate in what works best for you, or not.
