Summary

It may not be the end of the world, but if they fail it will definitely be the end of them.

What’s left of the human race live a life of ignorant luxury thousands of years after the war. That is until Kade, Brodin, and Sylas set off a chain of events they never thought possible. What do all three have in common? They are all skinny, they don’t believe a single thing they are told, and they love to delve into forbidden waters.  They find themselves trapped in the world they dreamed of, left with a task where failure is not an option, and time is ticking down.

Kade and his friends must find the only man able to fix the mess they caused, but how will they survive a world where they are nothing but a delicacy of the food chain? The weight of humanity is resting on their tired shoulders with only each other to rely on.

Excerpt

My parents were good leaders but absent parents. They were good conversationalists but they were never real friends with anyone. Ever since I was little, the only advice they would give me was to keep my head up high and show the people what it is to make progress. Of course, they meant it in a very different way than I took the information. When they said progress they meant a better self image, more parties in a year than anyone else, beautiful clothes and flaunting our ancestors 'accomplishments. It made me feel like I was chained to my name, like my words meant nothing as long as I smiled for the cameras. I still find truth in the words though, in a different way. Kade is the one who made the phrase mean freedom instead of imprisonment. When I met him, I was the perfect child, I sat still, chin up, quiet, always smiling and never disagreeing. I was a shell, my body felt like a prison. I was constantly trapped, always screaming inside just wanting someone to hear me.
