3 stupid Mistakes to Avoid When Making Irresistible Offers
$100M Offers: How To Make Offers So Good People Feel Stupid Saying No
Have you ever made an offer and heard nothing but crickets?
I’ve been there.
It’s frustrating when your hard work doesn’t pay off. But then I read Alex Hormozi’s book, $100M Offers. It opened my eyes to common mistakes we all make. Let me share what I learned. But first don’t forget to checkout my other two posts based on the same book.
Mistake 1: Competing on Price
This is the biggest mistake.
Many people think lowering prices will attract more customers. But Hormozi says it’s the wrong move.
Why?
Because cheap prices make your product look, well, cheap.
Also, low prices attract the wrong kind of clients.
These clients complain more and don’t value your work.
Instead, focus on adding value. When people see the value, they won’t mind paying more.
Mistake 2: Targeting Everyone
Another big mistake is trying to sell to everyone.
Hormozi says, “If you’re for everyone, you’re for no one.”
It’s better to focus on a niche.
A niche means a specific group of people with a specific problem.
When you target a niche, your offer becomes more special.
For example, a fitness program for new moms feels more personal than a general one for everyone. That’s how you stand out.
Mistake 3: No Urgency or Scarcity
People are busy.
They need a reason to act now.
Without urgency or scarcity, they’ll put off buying your offer.
Hormozi suggests ways to create urgency.
You can set a deadline, like, “Sign up by Friday!”
Or use scarcity, like, “Only 10 spots left!” These tactics push people to decide faster.
But always be honest.
Fake scarcity doesn’t work and hurts your reputation.
My Takeaway
After reading this, I saw my mistakes.
I used to lower my prices to compete.
Now, I focus on showing the value of my work.
I’ve also started targeting a niche. Instead of writing for all book lovers, I now focus on readers who love mysteries, thrillers, and nonfiction.
And guess what?
I also added urgency to my offers.
For example, I tell my audience about limited-time discounts on book club guides. It works!

Once you fix them, you’ll see a big difference
